Protest in Silchar: VHP, Sangh Parivar will march to Bangladesh if Govt. fails to take adequate measures
Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, Durga Vahini, Matri Shakti Vahini, and other affiliate outfits of Sangh Parivar have hit the streets of Silchar in a roaring agitation against the ongoing communal atrocities unleashed upon minority Hindus in Bangladesh. Protestors are now gathered in sit-in-demonstration at the premise of the district commissioner’s office in Silchar. Representatives of the protestors will hand over a memorandum to PM Narendra Modi through the district commissioner demanding strict and urgent measures for what is happening in Bangladesh.
Members and volunteers of the protesting Hindu organizations carried out a huge motorcycle rally through the heart of Silchar city to showcase solidarity with the Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. They raised Jay Shree Ram slogan and demanded capital punishments for the perpetrators of the Bangladesh violence.
“We have heard that Quran Sharif was discovered from a Durga Idol in Comilla, but this was just an excuse to create havoc and stop the Hindus from performing Durga Puja, some fundamentalists and miscreants put the Quran on Durga idol, as it is a routine incident, a fixed method being used to destabilized Hindu religious rituals and vandalize Hindu temples and shrines,” says VHP member, advocate Sushmita Purakayastha. She raised the question of insecurity of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh and said, “why Hindus are insecure in Bangladesh, whereas Muslims minorities are secured in India? Because we, Hindus are peace-loving.”
“We are aware of the fact that Hindus are always barred from performing their Puja, they vandalize our idols, this year they even vandalized an ISCKON temple, If, We Hindus, can accept our Muslims, they are living in peace here, then why can’t Hindus have the same right in Bangladesh?” She added.
Addressing the protesting event, the Sanghathan Mantri Purna Chandra Mondal said that Hindus will not sit in silence if this sort of atrocities doesn’t stop. He also warned that if the Government of India would not take adequate steps, then members and Volunteers of VHP, Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagran Mancha, RSS, and all other organizations would not hesitate to hold a March post to Bangladesh to take revenge.
“Where are those secular liberal intellectuals now those who shout if anything happens with a Muslim in Kashmir? Why are they silent now?” Purna Chandra Mondal raised the question from the protest venue.
