Protests, Strike against CAB in Barak Valley; In pictures

North East Students Organisation (NESO), that includes students from seven states in the region, has called for an 11-hour general strike which kicked off at 5 am today. The Assam University Silchar taking the Bandh into account decided to postpone the examinations that were scheduled today. Banks, government, and private offices, local schools and colleges are functioning as any other day in Barak Valley.

However, there are parts of Barak Valley where the bandh is observed. In some places, protesters are seen marching on the road, burning effigies and torching tyres to cause a road-block.
