Quadruplet babies born in Karimganj for the first time at Makunda Hospital

A mother in Karimganj gave birth to four children at the same time, today morning. The four children were born at Makunda Christian Missionary Hospital located in Karimganj district. The father and mother’s namw are Lasting Khasiya and Junita Khasiyan, respectively, who are residents of Nilambajar.

The hospital authority speaking with Barak Bulletin, informed that the mother reported with labour and was immediately operated upon. While she was earlier informed that she is carrying twins, having quadruplet was a surprise to her and the family. “The tribal lady delivered three boys and one girl today in the morning. They are doing well but put under observation as a precautionary measure.”

He also added that it’s been 20 years since he is working in the hospital and this is the first time four babies were delivered at one go.

The children are in the ICU of Makunda Leprosy cum General Hospital and the mother is currently recovering in the maternity ward of the hospital. The father of the four babies, Lasting Khasiya is said to be overjoyed after the delivery.
