While speaking with Barak Bulletin, Bhattacharjee said he had isolated himself at his own residence in Ambikapatty, Silchar since the time he got to know that Rudra Narayan Gupta tested positive.

On July 7, his sample was collected at ISBT and since then he has been waiting for the report. “Today, representatives from the administration called and they were very well-behaved and polite. They informed me that I have tested COVID positive and I will, therefore, be transferred to Silchar Civil Hospital,” added Bhattacharjee.

The professor said that he has already submitted the list of people who could have possibly come in contact with him. “I did not meet anyone apart from my family members neither did I go to college. So it is only my family members who were living with me…” he asserted.

Bhattacharjee met Rudra Narayan Gupta and his wife doctor, Tanushree Gupta, as he needed some medical assistance.
