Ramnagar accident: One dead in a bullet-auto head-on collision
Another road mishap in Cachar district. In a fatal road accident in front of Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Ramnagar area one man identified as Samsul Haque lost his life. Haque is a 40 year old resident of Srikona part II area, and was riding a brand new un-registered Royal Enfield (Bullet) bike. Pillion Aminul Haque resident of the same area got injured and was being treated in SMCH.
The inspector in charge of the case informed us that Samsul Haque was declared ‘brought dead’ by the medical college authority and Aminul was discharged after treatment.
According to eyewitnesses Royal Enfield was headed towards Srikona and was trying to overtake an oil tanker and in the process banged into a auto rickshaw coming from the opposite side. “We have confiscated the auto-rickshaw, oil tanker and the motorcycle, all three collided with each other,” informed the inspector.
A lady passenger travelling in the auto-rickshaw also got injured but she went to her home, informed the traffic police official. The registration number of the oil tanker is AS 11 AC 2861 and the number of auto-rickshaw is AS 11 AC 1780.
Few days back a brutal road accident took place over a bridge in Sonabarighat area and five people lost their life on the spot. Road accidents in Silchar and other part of Cachar district is at a all time high and Trucks, Tankers and Sumos are almost involved in all the cases. What is the reason behind all this road mishaps, is it irresponsible and rash driving or is it because of the recent improvement of all the roads. Roads have never been as good as they are now…
Whatever might be the reason its best to be safe then sorry. So we urge all the drivers/riders to be responsible and secure while on road. For now Samsul Haque has lost his life condolences to his family, may his soul rest in peace.
