Residents of Ambicapatty block road again demanding relief from water logging

The residents of Ambicapatty once again took to the streets to demand relief from the water logging problem in their area. The protest was joined by local Congress leader Tamal Kanti Banik and Rudra Narayan Gupta, president of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College cum director of Green Heals Hospital.

Tamal Kanti Banik stated that the drainage work has been ongoing for a year after numerous protests, but it has not been performed properly. He also mentioned that even after ten days of no rainfall, the Adharchand School area still had accumulated water, and the effectiveness of the culvert built in the Chowringhee area was uncertain.

Rudra Narayan Gupta emphasized the dire situation during the monsoon season, as many schools and colleges are located in the area, and students face difficulties in commuting. He also mentioned that yesterday, many students fell down while going to college, and there needs to be accountability for such incidents. Gupta said that the people of the area pay their municipal taxes and hence should receive adequate amenities in return.
