Road mishap takes away the life of 7-year-old; Cargo ran over pedestrian at Silchar - Mizoram Highway

In a tragic turn of affairs, a 7-year-old has lost his life. According to available information, a resident of the Saptagram area Kulsuma Begum Mazumdar, wife of Bahar Islam Mazumdar was standing near the road in front of the Saptagram Gaon Panchayat Office with their son, Arman Ahmed Mazumdar. That is when a Cargo Van, bearing registration of West Bengal approaching from Mizoram towards Silchar, went on and hit the boy.

The impact was such that the boy fell a few feet apart in the middle of the road. He was bleeding heavily and the locals rushed him to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The treating doctors at the hospital declared 7-year-old Arman was brought dead.

The accident occurred under Dholai Police Station and the officials have started a probe. The locals voiced their concerns as death due to vehicular traffic continues. 306 National Highway, which witnessed the devastating accident is the lifeline that connects Mizoram to the rest of the country.
