Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurates Rotary club-beautified park at 'Zero' point in Mahasadak
What once used to be a citadel for illegal activities is now converted to a beautified park. The ‘Zero’ point of Mahasadak in the VIP road that connects the city to the airport is now a beautified park with lights flooding the entire area.
Yesterday, forest and environment, fishery and excise minister of the government of Assam, Parimal Suklabaidya inaugurated the park in presence of deputy commissioner Laya Madduri, MLA Sonai, Aminul Haque Laskar and other senior members of Rotary Club. Suklabaidya applauded Rotary Club – greater Silchar’s efforts and said that the club beautified and developed many other places in Silchar and he is hopeful that this park will also stay well-maintained.
Club president Joyjit Biswas informed that they have appointed an individual to look after the arrangements and maintain it well.
The clock tower has been painted, three electronic poles have been installed and the entire area is now well lit with eight floodlights. Keeping the environment in mind, the Rotary club planted many seeds too.
Rotary Club, greater Silchar got the responsibility of beautification of the park at Zero point two months back and since then they have been working on it relentlessly. The Minister himself recognised the club’s efforts and appreciated whatever they did so far.
