Rs 3.5 lakh snatched from Tarapur; Again two miscreants riding on a Pulsar

The miscreants do not fear broad daylight or men in uniform. Today afternoon, two miscreants riding on a black Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle attacked a man and snatched his cash.

What has become a regular incident in Silchar, Tarapur – Karimganj Road resident Uttam Kumar Roy lost Rs 3.5 lakh. After withdrawing money from UBI’s Tarapur branch, Roy sat on his scooter and started riding towards the Tarapur Police Outpost.

“Right in front of the Tarapur Police Outpost, two young boys riding on a Bajaj Pulsar came and kicked me. I fell off my scooter and they started manhandling me. Within a fraction of a second, they snatched the bag and managed to escape. It took about five minutes for them to execute the crime,” said Roy.

“I cried for help as I realised they are snatching my bag and the cash inside. Locals rushed to help me, but by then the miscreants were on their way. The Police officials tried to chase them down, but after some time, they said they could not catch them,” added Roy.

Employed in the private sector, Uttam Kumar Roy had withdrawn the money to pay people tomorrow. “I was surprised at the awareness of the miscreants,” said Roy. They knew where the money is kept and how.

This is not the first time such an incident occurred in Silchar. Each time fingers get pointed towards the banks as without information from the inside, executing crime with such accuracy would be impossible.

When reached out, the officer-in-charge of Tarapur police outpost said they are investigating the matter and won’t like to comment at this stage.
