
Rs 9.20 lakh snatched after withdrawal from bank; "We are trying to nab the culprit," Karimganj SP
Miscreants have snatched money from a lady in Karimganj. In what has become a common affair in Barak Valley, another lady has lost a lot of money. Just after withdrawing cash from State Bank of India’s Karimganj Branch located in Settlement Road area, Lakhicharan Road resident Hasina Begum was on her way from the bank when miscreants riding two-wheelers snatched her money and managed to escape.
Explaining the incident, the investigating officer in Karimganj Police station said that they are investigating the matter. Rs 9.20 lakh has been snatched according to the complaint filed by the victim.
SP of Karimganj Police, Mayank Kumar said that the chase is on. Kumar has established an image for himself in the short span he has spent in Karimganj. As SP he has managed to nab culprits in a record time on several occasions in the past.
“The incident happened today and we have our team on the road. For now, our focus is on catching the miscreants,” said Kumar while speaking with Barak Bulletin.
Recently, there have been many such cases in Barak Valley and the customers across have alleged that there are insiders who inform the miscreants from the bank. “We will investigate all possible angles,” said SP Kumar.
Right outside the bank, when the miscreants snatched her bag, Hasina Begum started screaming on top of her voice. Listening to her, a few BSF jawans tried to chase the miscreants riding on the motorbike but could catch them.
