'Sadagura'- a film on cancer released today at Jain Bhawan

A 45-minute Bengali film on cancer titled ‘Sadagura’, produced by Sneha Tele Films was released at Jain Bhawan, N N Dutta Road on Thursday at 10.30 am. The film which revolves around cancer, its cause, and cure, has been written and directed by Madan Singhal. Sneha Singhal is the producer and assistant director of the film. Other members associated with the film include cinematographer Dev Dutta and editor Rajib Deb Roy.

The screening of the film was attended by Cachar deputy commissioner Laya Madduri, deputy speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Aminul Haque Laskar, joint director of health services Dr. Sudip Jyoti Das, DRDA project director Rasaraj Das, Silchar Medical College and Hospital principal Dr. Babul Kumar Bezbaruah, Cachar Cancer Hospital director Dr. Ravi Kannan, Barak Valley Cements Limited chief executive officer Mukesh Agarwal, musician Monoranjan Malakar, Samayik Prasanga editor Taimur Raja Choudhury and journalist littérateur Madan Singhal.

In addition to some interesting and entertaining scenes, conversation scenes with three cancer experts in English, Hindi and Bangla were also shown. A team of 60 people has made the film. Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, Aminul Haque Laskar said, “It is commendable that a team from Barak Valley has made such an educative film. I appreciate Sneha Singhal’s efforts. She has made a lot of films on cancer.”

Laya Madduri said, “Creating awareness about cancer is our own responsibility. Sneha Tele Films has really done a commendable job. Cachar district administration will cooperate in every possible way. We will make people aware by showing this film in various village and tea garden areas.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Barak Valley Cement Limited has installed hoardings, banners and other related promotional materials of this film all over the valley of Barak.
