Santosh Mohan Dev’s condition deteriorates, put on life support system

Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Santosh Mohan Dev’s condition is said to be quite critical. The politician was admitted to Valley Hospital and Research Centre a couple of days back for heart related ailments.

As per the current status, he has been put on life support system. As per reports, the doctors have informed that he is battling multi-organ failure and has been kept under observation in ICU.

Santosh Mohan Dev is an important member of Indian National Congress. He served as cabinet minister in Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises in the Government of India. He has served as the Member of Parliament for seven times. He represented Silchar, Assam five times and he was elected from Tripura twice. This veteran political leader has the rare merit of being elected from two states.

He is married to Bithika Dev, who is the member of the state legislative assembly, Assam, and the couple has four daughters. Santosh Dev has also served as the Member of Tea Board from 1981 to 83 and the Chairman of Assam Referee Board for three years.
