Satyajit Roy of Kumbhirgram receives President's Scout award

Satyajit Roy was awarded President’s Scout Award 2016 this Republic Day. He was awarded for his contribution as a scout while he was a student of kendriya Vidyalaya, Kumbhirgram .

On January 26, 2019 on the occasion of 70 th Republic Day, the award was officially given to him at the Kendria Vidialaya Kumbhiragam. Air Force station commandant P S Nikhil and Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya V S Wankharde handed over the prize to him to Roy.

Satyajit Roy, son of Manik Roy, is a resident of Kumbhirgram area. At present, he is studying B Com at Cachar College, Silchar. In the year 2016, he was a student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kumbhiragram .

Regarding a scout it is said that, “Scout is a friend to all and a brother to every other Scout; a Scout is courteous, a Scout is a friend to animals and loves nature; a Scout is disciplined and helps protect public property.

Winning of this special award brought enormous joy to his schoolmates as well as to the locales.
