Sept 4 COVID Update: 146 in Cachar, 127 in Karimganj and 26 in Hailakandi; 1 died at SMCH
Cachar district administration informed that 146 individuals have tested positive in the district and out of them, 105 were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test kit. On Friday, the administration performed 1421 tests using RAT kit in Cachar.
Vice-principal of Silchar Medical College and Hospital, Dr. Bhaskar Gupta informed that 22 patients are in critical condition while one died in the last 24 hours. “So far at SMCH’s COVID wards and ICU, 109 COVID positive patients have died and out of them, 42 were adjudged as COVID death by the audit board,” said Gupta.
On the other hand, 26 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi district on Friday, taking the total tally to 2,490. Of the 26 positive cases, 22 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) while four-under RT-PCR. 888 swab samples were collected in Hailakndi on September 4.
Deputy Commissioner of Hailakandi, Megh Nidhi Dahal visited the COVID ward of SK Roy Civil Hospital on Friday. Accompanied by Circle Officer, Hailakandi, Tridib Roy, Deputy Commissioner Dahal enquired about the patients well being. He asked the hospital authorities to ensure that hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
The Deputy Commissioner also took stock of new ventilators that arrived at the civil hospital recently and asked the authorities to install them as soon as possible.
In Karimganj district, 1556 individuals were tested using RAT kit and 91 of them tested positive. The district reported its all time highest number of cases on Friday as the number stood at 127.
