September 20 Update: 48 positive in Cachar, 23 in Karimganj and 11 in Hailakandi; 1 dead at SMCH
13 patients took admission to Silchar Medical Collge and Hospital in the last 24 hours while 18 got discharged. The declining trend in COVID positive cases remains consistent in all three districts of Barak Valley. SMCH, which deals with symptomatic and critical patients is far more relaxed than what it was a month back.
Currently, there are 141 patients at the COVID wards of SMCH. All 16 beds in ICU are occupied and the authority informed that there 22 patients are in critical condition while three have been placed under a ventilator. So far, 1963 patients too admission in SMCH while 1683 got discharged after getting cured. 149 succumbed after being infected by the Coronavirus but the death audit board considered 57 as COVID death.
One patient died today at SMCH who is a resident of Tripura.
In the Cachar district, 48 individuals tested positive for COVID19 on September 20. 35 of them were tested using the Rapid Antigen Test Kit.
In Karimganj district, 23 were found positive out of 366 tests conducted using the rapid antigen test kit. On Sunday, 43 patients got discharged from various hospitals in Karimganj after they have recovered.
11 fresh COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Hailakandi on Sunday, taking the district’s total tally to 2,884.
Health authorities in Hailakandi disclosed that of the 11 positive cases, 10 have been detected under the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT). Altogether 341 swab samples were taken on Sunday.
