Several Trains Including Silchar to Guwahati Express Cancelled Due to Repair Work
Once more, several trains are being cancelled, rescheduled, or regulated because of the ongoing track repair work. This work has led to a temporary restriction on train movements between Jatinga Lampur and New Harangajao under the Lumding Division of NFR. Few trains under Rangiya Division of NFR are also being cancelled, partially cancelled, rescheduled or regulated for undertaking passenger amenity & capacity augmentation works at Ghograpar station & between Rangiya to Kendukona stations.
Among the many trains listed for cancellation Silchar to Guwahati Express is included as well. According to the Chief Public Relations Officer’s report from May 12 to May 14, the following trains are going to be affected.
Cancellation of trains:
– Train no. 15615/15616 (Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati) Express scheduled for May 12, 2024.
– Train no. 15769/15770 (Alipurduar – Lumding – Alipurduar) Intercity Express scheduled for May 14, 2024.
– Train no. 15753/15754 (Alipurduar- Guwahati – Alipurduar) Shifung Express scheduled for May 14, 2024.
Rescheduling of trains:
– Train No. 01666 (Agartala – Rani Kamalapati) Special on May 12, 2024.
– Train No. 15612 (Silchar – Rangiya) Express on May 12, 2024.
– Train No. 01066 (Agartala – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) Special on May 12, 2024.
– Train No. 15960 (Dibrugarh – Howrah) Kamrup Express on May 13, 2024.
– Train No. 15657 (Delhi – Kamakhya) Brahmaputra Mail on May 12, 2024.
– Train No. 12505 (Kamakhya – Anand Vihar Terminal) Northeast Express on May 14, 2024.
Partial Cancellation:
– Train No. 15815/15816 (Guwahati – Dekargaon – Guwahati) Express on May 14, 2024, partially cancelled between Guwahati and Rangiya.
Regulation of trains:
– Train No. 15961 (Howrah – Dibrugarh) Kamrup Express on May 13, 2024, will be regulated enroute by 110 minutes.
– Train No. 15625 (Deoghar – Agartala) Express on May 13, 2024, will be regulated enroute by 60 minutes.
Once again, the Silchar to Guwahati Express train has been cancelled, leaving the people of Barak Valley stranded with no way out of the valley. The saga of train cancellations due to repair work began with the onset of storms. Now, this cycle of cancellations has become a daily routine. People are wondering when exactly the rail line will be good enough for them to travel without the fear of being landlocked.
