Short film 'Rahu' to be screened in Silchar on June 19
“Rahu”, a short-film produced by Subimal Bhattacharjee’s Jookto Foundation is slated to be screened in Silchar on June 19.
The short-film, is about a young boy, who turns into a psycho killer, after not being able to endure pressure exerted by his parents regarding his academic career. The film will present how parents’ pressure can have an adverse impact on their kids and result in unpleasant consequences.
Pranab Seal, one of the core members of P.K. Production told Barak Bulletin on Saturday that the project was started in 2015 and many artistes from Silchar had worked in it. The 40-minute film will be screened at the conference hall of Rajiv Bhavan in Silchar on June 19 (Time: 5pm), he said.
Konad Bhattacharjee will play the protagonist in the film, while Aditya Dey and Priya Mazumder will be seen in the other lead roles. Apart from these names, many including including Gopa Choudhury, Santanu Sengupta, Pranjal Chakraborty, Mahadeb Banik and Biswajit Nath Samajpati have worked in the film, he said.
The news of the short-film’s release has started making rounds on social media with a large number of people posting and sharing posters of the film and expressing their views.
Konad Bhattacharjee, who has written the script, has also directed the short-film with Pranab Seal. Sharing his reaction, Konad said he was hopeful that the short-film would receive a good response from movie-lovers in Silchar.
The Peninsula Studios, a national award winning music content company, had earlier released the music for Rahu. Popular musical band Cactus from Kolkata has worked on the theme song of the film.
