Silchar Childline unites missing boy with his family in Biswanath Chariali a year after he went missing
A 5-year-old kid was united with his family on July 27, a year after the child went missing from Biswanath Chariali. With the efforts of the Childline Silchar, the lost kid was sheltered at Nivedita Nari Shangstha for more than a year. Last year, in April a 4-year-old child was found by the Gumra Outpost in Kalain.
The boy was found lost and due to his age, he couldn’t communicate his address or any relevant information to the police. Later the police handed over the 4-year-old to the officials of Childline Silchar. Debashis Dey, an official of the Childline said, “When we received this boy from the Gumra Outpost, we did the necessary formalities and with the order from the Child Welfare Committee(CWC) it was decided to send him to a shelter home until further notice”.
The boy was then sent to Nivedita Nari Shangstha located in Meherpur for shelter, care and protection by the CWC, Silchar. The official further said, “After one year’s search the police and CWC could track his address and locate his home in Biswanath Chariali in Biswanath district. During official procedures and intervention, Biswanath Chariali CWC visited the shelter home and verified the identity of the child. That’s how we could unite him with his family”.
On July 27, Childline Silchar accompanied the now 5-year-old boy and handed him over to Biswanath Chariali CWC for his home.
