Silchar DSA’s Cricket season to kickstart in November with A Division
Silchar DSA is geared up to kickstart the Cricket season with First Division League cum Knockout tournament in November. If sources within the DSA are to be believed, in the between November 10 and 13, with First Division tournament, the cricket season is likely to begin. Last year, the season had started with third division on November 15.
The DSA has plans to restore focus on the School Cricket championship as that has always been the stepping stone for many players who went on to play for the state. Silchar DSA will use India Club’s ground for matches of School Cricket and other tournaments under its jurisdiction.
The authority has already communicated it to the clubs that the A division matches will be played in November and the players have started practice too. A division in Silchar has lost its mojo after DSA the started the Super Division Tournament where top six Clubs featuring best players tussle it out. With A division happening at the start of the season, that might change.
To get the cricket season up and rolling, under pitch curator Ram Behara’s guidance, there are eight pitches that have been prepared. The Under 16 team has already played a practice match on the turf.
