MP Rajdeep Roy takes oath in Bengali; seeks blessings from people of Silchar

When BJP’s parliamentary board secretary JP Nadda announced doctor Rajdeep Roy’s candidature from Silchar Lok Sabha seat, he announced Roy’s name as, “Rajdeep Roy Bangali”. Many mocked the announcement back then, but today, Roy sends a strong message to the people of South Assam and especially Barak Valley.
In the first day of 17th Lok Sabha, at the lower house of parliament, Roy took the oath as a member of parliament along with many other elected members of parliament. He read the oath document in Bengali as announced earlier. After doing so, he sought blessings from the people of Barak Valley. He already promised that Barak Valley will always find Rajdeep Roy beside them whenever necessary.

Today marks the beginning of the 17th Lok Sabha and the first two days will be devoted to the oath-taking ceremony. On June 19, 2019, all the members of parliament will elect the new speaker. On June 20, president of India, Ramnath Kovind will address a joint session.
This is doctor Rajdeep Roy’s first tenure as a member of parliament. He defeated Congress’ Sushmita Dev by a margin of more than 80,000 votes in the 2019 general elections to Lok Sabha.
