Silchar Police’s undercover team intercepts bike lifter; handcuffs him after chase

A team of Cachar Police’s Silchar Sadar Police Station has successfully intercepted a bike lifter and managed to handcuff him. Based on a secret tip off, the team of Police Officials chased a motorbike through the Circuit House road and eventually confronted him opposite the office of DDMA on the road that connects Settlement Office to India Club.

The Police officials under cover wearing civil dress were heckled by the bike lifter. He identified himself as Bibek Sinha and said that he is a resident of Banskandi.

He confessed that he was arrested in the past too but maintained he is being framed. It is worth mentioning here that the detained individual was intoxicated and upon search, the Police also recovered a syringe.

When asked why he was carrying a syringe, he said he tattoos his hand using the syringe. However, there was no ink found with him.

What also draws attention is the fact that the bike’s number was changed and the number plate that read AS11 A 8953 is actually a fake number that’s not registered with any RTO. Which means that the detained bike-lifter is a professional criminal probably associated with a nexus.

The awareness of the team of Silchar Sadar under the leadership of OC Amit Singh deserve praise here as the man detained had launched a full-fledged counter attack and was trying to run away using the rush of Puja traffic. The cops wearing civil dress maintained calm and eventually handcuffed him.

The Sadar Police Station was informed about the same and a recovery van has been called to escort the motorcycle. The detained individual will also be escorted to the Silchar Sadar Police Station for detailed interrogation.
