Silchar Sadar Police Station's OC - Ditumoni Goswami tests positive for COVID19

A COVID warrior from day 1, Silchar Sadar Police Station’s officer in charge, Ditumoni Goswami has tested positive for COVID19. This comes a day after four other officials from the Superintendent of Police’s office tested positive.

“After rapid antigen test, Ditumoni Goswami was found positive for COVID19. Yesterday, four others from the Superintendent of Police’s office were found COVID positive after a rapid antigen test,” said Cachar SP, Bhanwar Lal Meena.

Cachar SP added that officials in all the police stations will now be tested in a phase-wise manner.

District Health Department informed that the four officials from the SP Office who tested positive for COVID19 yesterday, have been transferred to the Model Degree College in Borkhola which is now functioning as a COVID Care Centre.

Goswami replaced Indrajit Chakraborty and took charge of Silchar Sadar Police Station in 2018. Before that, he was at the Dial 100 department in Dispur. Goswami had previously served a term as the officer in charge of the Rangirkhari Police Outpost too.
