Silchar's Samarpita wins gold in national level recitation competition

Silchar girl Samarpita Bhattacharya bags gold medal at National level recitation competition organised by Hindu religious group Ayachak Ashram. The competition was organised by halflong wing of Ayachak Ashram and was judged by some renowned vocal artists.

This competition was a part of seven-day-long celebration of Hindu Monk Sri Sri Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Dev which started on December 25. The Singha Pradhan of Ayachak Ashram, Sri Sri Tapan Brahmachari along with thousands of followers of Swami Swarupananda attended at the event at Haflong.

The event held at Haflong on December 28 and was judged by renowned vocal artist Amit Sikhdar, Manoj Dav, Papiya Sinha, Debabrata Acharya and others. This was the 7th National recitation competition organised by Ayachak Ashram which focuses on writings of Swami swarupananda. The event was divided into five age groups. Hundreds of disciples of Swami swarupananda participated in the competition which started from district level. According to the members of Ayachak Ashram, this is one of its kind initiative and they are the only religious group to conduct such a competition.

Samarpita qualified for the national level competition by winning district Level Competition Alia this year. She represent it Silchar at the national Level Competition and by winning this title she made her parents proud.
