Silchar's Young Midfielder Jianchun plays in the reserve team of North East United

Once known for his brilliance, Jianchun Rongmei had once put on the Jersey of the Under 17 team to play the World cup. But at the very end, he got separated from the team, and so began his journey to establish himself in the State teams. With this view in mind, he participated in the North East United FC reserve team of ISL. At this moment, this reserve team is playing in the Guwahati Sports Association’s C division Football League. Jianchun has performed remarkably well in the recent 3 matches he has played.

This year, Silchar is not hosting its upcoming season. So using this opportunity, the reserve team of North East United signed its Midfielders from Town Club Silchar. However, Jianchun refuses to stop here, as his goalpost lies in playing the Durand Cup. Performing well in these state tournaments can help him win the attention of the ISL franchises.

The North East United FC intends to utilise the Guwahati League as a preparatory session. For this clear reason, they signed Jianchun from Silchar. They wish to finalize the team structure in Guwahati itself, hence building a strong team for ISL. However, even after getting a chance in the Reserve Team, Jianchun will have to face lots of hurdles to join the Durand Cup. So, all footballers want to start performing well from this League itself.

“This experience will help me a lot. The ISL team will be formed from this Reserve Team. Besides, the Durand Cup begins from 13th August. The North East United FC will promote their players in that. So this is a golden opportunity for me. Even if its a Reserve team, the coaching staff is very advanced in the technical field. So all this experience will help me a lot for the future”, says Jianchun.
