Social and cultural activist Rantu Bagchi dies at 80

Today morning at 4 am renowned social and cultural activist Rantu Bagchi breathed his last. He was admitted at a private nursing home for the last 19 days.

According to family sources, last night, the treating doctors informed about sudden deterioration in his health condition. Upon learning about the same the family members rushed to the private hospital. He was 80.

A registered contractor Rantu Bagchi apart from being a businessman was actively involved in social and cultural activities. Recently he has been recognised for his contribution in the field of theatre. He has played a pivotal role in lighting up the sets of many award winning plays.

A resident of Ambicapatty Bagchi lived by his wife, two sons and a daughter-in-law. He leaves behind his family, friends and thousands of acquaintances in socio cultural fraternity.
