Sonabarighat Man who jumped into the river to escape Police found dead
Violation is the new normal in Cachar district. When the whole world is struggling to deal with the fatal Coronavirus outbreak, one after another incidents are surfacing from the district. In the morning an AISFconstable was found dead in mysterious circumstances in the Sonabarighat area.
Not only that, a large number of people gathered in the market area as if it was just another day. When Police started asking people to go back to their respective homes and avoid social gatherings, a young individual identified as Moinuddin Barbhuiya (Pappu) jumped in the river in order to escape the trial.
As per available information, Sonabarighat resident Moinuddin Barbhuiya (Pappu) was outdoors breaching lockdown protocols. He was allegedly gossiping in a group of three and when the saw the Police van they rushed and jumped into the river. State Disaster Relief Force personnel launched a search operation. Though the remaining two were rescued, Pappu remained untraced.
At around 3:30, PM the SDRF officials confirmed that they have recovered Pappu Ahmed’s dead body from the river.
It is not known if Pappu Ahmed was connected with constable Bakhtar Uddin Barbhuiya’s death in the morning.
