Speeding tipper hits bike in Patharkandi, Policewoman and husband killed on way back home

Tina Moni Charai (34), a female police constable of Patharkandi Police Station and her husband Lingi Shekh Charai (45), were killed in a tragic road accident on Saturday evening on their way home from work.

According to sources, it is learned that the tragic road accident took place at around 6 pm today when Tina Moni was on her way to her father-in-law’s house in Magura Punji area of ​​Katamani under Bazarichhara police station with her husband in a bike (AS-10-A-6033).

At Patharkandi Mundamala area, on the Assam-Tripura National Highway 8, a speeding tipper heading towards Karimganj hit the bike and both fell to the ground. Lingi Shekh, who was riding the bike, died on the spot. Local MLA Krishnendu Paul rushed to Patharkandi Hospital after receiving the news of the road accident. He expressed deep sorrow over the death of the couple and extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
