Storm kills 1 in Rangpur; lightning leaves one dead in Karimganj

Its only early April and Barak Valley has already seen nature at its horrifying avatar. Early today morning cyclone struck again in the valley affecting over 600 people.
In Rangpur the storm brought down a gigantic tree which fell over a house killing 35 year old Brishbala Das. The CEO of District Disaster Management Authority in his storm report confirmed that the Rangpur Part III resident died because of “falling of tree”. The storm had its affect in Machughat,Chuto Dudhpatil, Rongpur part III,Sonapur (Katigorah), Udharbond, Sonai, Katigorah, Lakhipur and its adjoining areas too.
In the DDMA storm report the CEO mentioned that 297 NO Banskandi LP School in Banskandi area got “partially damaged” because of the storm.
On the other hand in Karimganj district’s Radhakrishna Nagar lighting struck hard and killed one. The deceased is identified as Sudhir Baishnab, sources informed us that locals rushed him to hospital immediately after the incident where he was declared dead by the medical officer. We are informed that four others got critically injured because of the lightning and are now in serious condition battling for life in the Hospital.
