Student of Lalit Jain Commerce college tests Covid positive after appearing in exam, College authority still indifferent in taking precautions
On April 17, a female student of the Lalit Jain Commerce college was tested Covid positive, about which she herself posted on her Facebook profile. It was later known that she had an exam on April 17 and it was conducted in the college according to the usual protocol. The 5th-semester student reported the infection on her own and sent a message to everyone who came in contact with her, asking them to get their covid tested. However, the college authorities are indifferent in this regard.
College authorities have said that they’re aware that the girl has tested positive, but since no one has officially informed them or nobody from the victim’s family hasn’t contacted them yet, they do not see the need to take any action. If they are informed in future by the district administration or the student’s family, they will take necessary action.
Now the issue is, a student who has tested positive has taken the responsibility of awareness by herself and is alerting and warning everyone about it. But the college, where she appeared for the exam, they are indifferent and being careless, which is definitely putting other students at risk. For this mishap, the university authorities are solely responsible, as they are conducting the examination after being aware of the current situation. One after another student are contracting the deadly virus, yet the examination is still not getting cancelled.
Yesterday it was heard that that the administration has contacted every college authority in the district, but no clear information has been received in this regard. The number of victims is increasing every day and the number of deaths is also increasing.
Although the government has laid down various rules in the case of market places, shopping malls, etc., there has been no talk about the risk of students’ lives being tested. How everyone, from the government to the university and college authorities, is feeling indifferent to the safety of students, increases the further risk of danger in the future.
