Sushmita Dev wishes Priyanka Chaturvedi as she joins Shiv Sena from Congress

Former All India National Congress spokesperson and convenor media cell, Priyanka Chaturvedi has been making headlines since last couple of days. Bang in the middle of the Lok Sabha elections, Chaturvedi has put Congress in a difficult spot by announcing her resignation. However, hours later she did a press conference sitting next to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and informed the nation that she has joined the Shiv Sena.

Journalist turned politician, Chaturvedi accused Congress of misogyny and lack of respect towards women. She accused the the party she served for a decade of reinstating some leaders who had “attacked” her, behaved as “lumpen goons” and allegedly threatened her with rape and said that she felt let down by her party’s actions.

Her tweet read, “Deeply saddened that lumpen goons get preference in @incindia over those who have given their sweat and blood. Having faced brickbats and abuse across (the) board for the party but yet those who threatened me within the party getting away with not even a rap on their knuckles is unfortunate.”

Silchar MP and Indian National Congress’ Mahila Congress president Sushmita Dev took on twitter to wish her former colleague. Dev who contesting for a second term as the member of parliament from Silchar Lok Sabha constituency tweeted, “Good luck to @priyankac19 (Priyanka Chaturvedi) on her new career move. I wish her well. Hope she succeeds in her plans in the Shiv Sena. I always felt she was cherished & nurtured by all in the @INCIndia.”

Dev restricted herself to a sporting-all the best tweet and did not get into Chaturvedi allegation of misogyny.
