Swapneel Paul (IAS), who has an ancestral home in Cachar, takes charge as Sub Divisional Officer, Rangia

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 2018 batch Swapneel Paul has taken charge as a sub-divisional officer (Civil) of Rangia, Kamrup. He was earlier posted as an assistant commissioner in Nagaon.

“Since this is my first independent posting after the completion of probation, I am looking forward to the new set of challenges and opportunities in the new place,” says Paul.

He believes the experience in the new role would add to his overall learnings and experiences especially when the situation is so dynamic given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“Seeking everyone’s blessings and good wishes on this journey,” he asserts.

Born and brought up in Dimapur’s Netaji Colony, Swapneel Paul had secured 64th rank in the UPSC examination.

He is a Sylheti and has his ancestral home is in Cachar district’s Lakhipur area. He did his graduation from the National Institute of Technology Silchar. The electrical engineer of the 2012 batch went to Delhi to prepare for UPSC.

Swapneel Paul did his schooling from Holy Cross in Dimapur and had secured sixth rank in the State’s school-leaving examination. He pursued his higher secondary from Army School in Narangi, Guwahati.
