Hoping to build up support for the Congress grand alliance in Barak Valley, Tejashwi Yadav and Sachin Pilot will be visiting the valley this time. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son, Tejashwi Yadav, the main opposition leader in Bihar representing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), will join Barak in three events. One of the bright young politicians of the Congress, Sachin Pilot will have events in Cachar, Karimganj and Haflong. He will mainly have events with the local youth which will be followed by discussion meetings and roadshow.

Tejashwi Yadav will arrive at Kumbhirgram airport at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 26. From there, he will go to Ratabari by helicopter. He has an 11 am meeting at the Ratabari constituency of Karimganj. Then he will leave for Dholai at around noon. He is supposed to attend a public meeting there and leave for Lakhipur at around 12:30 pm after which, he will return to Guwahati at 4 pm. Then from there, Tejashwi Yadav is supposed to leave for Patna.

Sachin Pilot will arrive at Kumbhirgram airport at 10:30 am on Sunday and will go directly to Silchar.  There is a special public event at 11 am at the DSA ground where discussions will be held with the educated unemployed of the valley. Then a roadshow will be organized in the city where Sachin Pilot will take part. After the roadshow, he will leave for Karimganj. There too he has a meeting scheduled with the educated unemployed and a roadshow. Then he’ll leave for Haflong where he’ll take part in a public event. After the event, he’ll leave for Guwahati at 4:30 pm.

The Congress party is campaigning on various issues of the youth in this election. Especially the issue of unemployment of the youths in Barak Valley. From here, if two national-level youth icons are promoted in Barak Valley, it will definitely have an impact.

However, on whether Rahul Gandhi or Priyanka Gandhi will visit Barak Valley, former Congress MP Sushmita Dev said, “I can say that our supporters will not be disappointed. The Pradesh Congress might announce who will come when.”
