"The Mills got shut because of Congress, BJP is making efforts to revive them": Parimal Suklabaidya
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Silchar in Barak Valley on Thursday. As part of “Bijoy Sankalp Samabesh”, Modi will address a gathering at Ramnagar. The programme will start at 2pm tomorrow.
Assam minister Parimal Suklabaidya said at a news conference in Silchar on Wednesday that the country has witnessed immense progress and development under Modi’s leadership in the past five years and the masses eagerly want Modi to see as the Prime Minister of the country once again.
He said the Prime Minister, who is expected to reach the venue by around 3pm on Thursday afternoon, would speak on different issues and also present the vision and future plans of the government about the country’s development.
Asked about the defunct paper mills in Assam, Suklabaidya said the Congress was responsible for the pitiable condition of the industrial units and that the BJP government has been making efforts to revive the mills. “Hopefully, the issue will be resolved soon,” he added.
He also shared that the government is planning to expand the Silchar airport and take various initiatives for the overall development of Barak Valley. The minister further said the work of the mini-secretariat, whose foundation stone was laid by chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal recently, will begin soon.
Modi will reach Silchar airport from Mangaldoi and then reach the venue at Ramnagar on a helicopter. After the event, he will reach Silchar airport on the helicopter and thereafter fly to New Delhi.
Cachar BJP president Kaushik Rai said Rahul Gandhi’s “flop show” at Panchgram on Tuesday has clearly proved that the masses do not want him or Congress. “Rahul Gandhi knows well that the Congress will not come to power. All the surveys have said that lotus is going to bloom and the elections’ results will reveal that,” he said.
He said he is confident that the masses will wholeheartedly shower their love and blessings on the BJP and help the party win both the Lok Sabha seats in Barak Valley.
BJP members including former Cachar BJP president Uday Shankar Goswami, Rupam Saha and Prosenjit Bhattacharjee were also present
