Thieves break into a commercial complex in Cachar; 30 shops allegedly looted
A group of thieves entered a commercial complex in Cachar and allegedly looted 30 shops. Last night, a group of sophisticated thieves entered a commercial complex in Katigorah’s Kalain Bazar. The miscreants broke into the complex through its roof and cleaned up cash kept at the drawers of shops.
The shopkeepers shared their anger and said that such an incident only exposes the loopholes in the system. They shared that a few days back, the thieves broke into the Star Cement office and looted it but the Police took no action.
In charge of Kalain Police, Dhaneshwar Das reached the spot with his team in the morning after getting information about the incident. Police sources informed that they suspect, around 2:00 am a group of thieves entered the complex to loot the shops.
The Police noted that the complex management gave up the night security they had subscribed to and the thieves took that as an opportunity. Though the local shopkeepers claimed that 30 stores were looted, the Police in its preliminary investigation found that one cement shop and around six others were broken into.
“We have only received the FIR today afternoon. The investigation is on. We will detain the thieves and take action as per law,” said Dhaneshwar Das, IC, Kalain.
