Third Term Loading” Nitin Nabin’s Big Claim at Cachar Rally

With just days left before the Assam Assembly elections on April 9, Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin addressed a massive rally in Cachar on Saturday (April 4), expressing confidence that the party will return to power in the state for a third consecutive term.

Nabin arrived in the Lakhipur constituency and took part in the BJP’s Vijay Sankalp rally at Labok playground, where he campaigned for party candidate Kaushik Rai along with other BJP nominees from the district. He was accompanied by Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia.

Addressing a gathering of around 50,000 people, Nabin said the BJP’s governance based on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” has earned the trust of the people of Assam. He asserted that voters would once again support the party and ensure the formation of a BJP government in the state.

In his speech, Nabin criticised the previous Congress government, alleging that welfare benefits did not reach the poor effectively during its rule. He claimed that under the current administration, government assistance reaches beneficiaries directly without interference from middlemen. He also highlighted the party’s focus on women’s empowerment and safety.

Taking a swipe at former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Nabin said the Northeast did not receive adequate attention earlier. In contrast, he praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for frequently visiting the region and announcing new schemes aimed at development.

The rally comes at a crucial time as campaigning intensifies across Assam ahead of polling, which will be held in a single phase on April 9. With the election approaching, security measures have been tightened across the state. Police and security personnel are carrying out vehicle checks and inspecting bags at various points to ensure a safe and fair voting process.

Authorities have also announced dry days from April 7 to April 9 in view of the elections. The counting of votes is scheduled to take place on May 4.
