Thousands of Devotees offer prayers to Goddess KANCHAKANTI on 2nd day of Annual Festival
On the second day of the 40th Annual Festival of Kanchakanti temple, thousands of devotees offered prayers to Goddess Kanchant today. Right from the morning till evening, almost one lakh devotees gathered in the temple. Out of them about sixty thousand took Mahaprashad. One Bhakta said, “This year the attendance of Devotees are much more than the last years”.
Today’s programme included offering of Pooja at 9 a.m., kirtan at 10:00 a.m., Bhog at 11 a.m., distribution of Mahaprasad at 12 noon onwards, Arati in the evening. A cultural program is also scheduled to be held in the evening from 7 p.m. onwards.
Police administration was quite active throughout the area to cope with the overflowing crowd. The CRPF has been deployed in the surrounding streets including the temple complex. To avoid traffic congestion, entry of vehicles in the Kalibari road has been fully banned. The CC camera in the temple premises also installed for surveillance.
Just like a small fair, shops of toys and various items were opened by small businessman beside the road. The number of Devotees coming from the adjoining garden area was remarkable.
