Tractors purchased on Govt grant used by Congress in their homes: Parimal Suklabaidya

Taking a potshot at Congress, Minister of Forests, Fisheries and Excise Parimal Suklabaidya said that there were times when tractors purchased at Government subsidised rates were found inside homes of Congress leaders and ministers. But this practice to deprive the farmers has been put to an end after the BJP came to power.

Claiming that the the BJP led Assam Government is whole heartedly pro-poor and pro-farmer, Suklabaidya said that revolutionary schemes like wavering of loan interest and special incentives have been accrrued to the farmers. Suklabaidya urged the farmers to work hard and enhance production level for reaping more benefits.

The Minister was addressing farmers at the ceremonial distribution of one time grant of Rs 5000 to 22186 farmers under the Mukhyamantri Krishi Sa-Sajuli Yojna at Police Parade ground in Silchar on Tuesday.

State Minister of Education, Law and Justice Siddhartha Bhattacharjee gave away the grants on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri highlighted the benefits like Assam Farmer’s Interest Relief Scheme, Assam Farmer’s Credit Subsidy Scheme etc in her introductory speech on the occasion.
