Tragic Accident in Silchar-Jiribam Route, 90-year-old Dies Under Running Train

A heartwrenching incident happened early on Tuesday morning, on the Silchar-Jiribam Rail route. A nonagenarian man came under a running train on June 11. The elderly man died on the spot due to the impact of the accident. Later the body was sent for postmortem.

The incident happened early this morning on the Silchar-Jiribam route in Udharbond’s Laothai Village. Nilbraj Singha, the 90-year-old man died on the spot due to the train running over him. According to locals, he was trying to cross the railway track when this incident happened. Crowds of locals gathered there to recover the dead body.

Later the police reached the spot and recovered the body. The dead body of Nilbraj Singha was then sent to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for the postmortem examination.

Accidents related to railway crossings are increasing in Barak Valley. A few days back, a four-wheeler was stuck on the railway track when a goods train hit the car.
