Two individuals escape quarantine centre breaking windows in Hailakandi; "Criminal case will be registered," says SP
Today afternoon, two individuals placed under quarantine in a school in Hailakandi created a ruckus. As per available information, they broke a window and escaped from the quarantine centre which was guarded by security officials.
The superintendent of Police, Hailakandi – Pabindra Kumar Nath confirmed that the two boys have been identified and apprehended. “They went to a shop and returned to the quarantine centre where the officials apprehended them,” said Nath while speaking with Barak Bulletin.
He added that the duo left the quarantine centre, bought something from a shop, and then came back. They broke the window and a lock while doing so. “They have come in contact with the shopkeeper who will now have to remain under home quarantine. His swab samples will be tested too,” informed the SP.
Creating ruckus in quarantine centres have become a new normal in the COVID era. In Cachar too, people inside quarantine centres are creating a nuisance. A couple of days back, ADC Cachar, Sumit Sattavan said that the people inside quarantine centres are misbehaving with the staff maintaining the centres. Sattavan said few even threatened to spit and spread the virus.
Hailakandi SP has made it clear that strict action will be taken against the duo who broke the window and escaped the quarantine centre. “We will lodge a criminal case against them and take actions once their quarantine period is over,” said PK Nath.
