Two separate accidents; One minor and two youth killed in Cachar

Two youths lost their lives in a road accident that occurred at Lakhipur in Cachar district last night. The deceased were identified as Tapas Banik and Tutan Banik. The driver of the car Altaf Hossain Laskar suffered serious injuries. The house of the two deceased youths is located at Jirighat on the Assam – Manipur border in Lakhipur sub-division.

It is informed that a Honda WR-V car without a number plate was coming from Silchar to Jirighat last night when it lost its control and got involved in the accident on Shibpur National Highway No. 37 under Lakhipur Police Station.

There were four young individuals including the driver inside the car. One young man among them was released from the hospital after primary treatment.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, Junaid Ahmed Majumder (17) of North Krishnapur got killed in a road accident last night. Last night at around 7 pm he was returning from Shildubi after finishing work on his motorcycle when he suddenly hit an electric pole located near Saidpur Charki Shah Mokam. He was accompanied by his friend Hannan who received serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College & Hospital.

Meanwhile, after the autopsy, Junaid’s body was handed over to his family. His funeral prayers will be held at 4 pm today. This untimely death of Junaid has cast a shadow of mourning over the area.
