Udharbond: Three Victims Critical After Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway

A major road accident on the Gosaipur highway left three individuals severely injured. The incident occurred at around 8 PM on Sunday at Gosaipur’s 4.5 Mile area, under Udharbond Police Station.

The injured have been identified as Aman Bhattacharjee (19), son of Anu Bhattacharjee from Tarapur Shibbari in Silchar; Nitu Das (22), son of Ajay Das from the same locality; and Farooq Ahmed Mazumdar (67), son of late Abdul Sheikh Mazumdar from Rangpur Arkatipur.

According to reports, Farooq Ahmed was returning home to Arkatipur from Udharbond on his scooter when a speeding Eon car struck his vehicle from behind. The impact caused Farooq to be thrown onto the highway, leaving him injured. The Eon car, after hitting the scooter, collided with a stationary tipper truck parked by the roadside.

This secondary collision led to serious injuries to Aman Bhattacharjee and Nitu Das, who were near the tipper truck at the time of the accident. The severity of their injuries raised concerns for their well-being.

Upon receiving the accident report, Assistant Sub-Inspector Ranjit Sinha from Udharbond Police Station, along with his team, rushed to the scene. The injured individuals were promptly rescued and transported to the Udharbond Primary Health Centre for initial treatment.

Given the critical nature of their injuries, medical professionals advised that all three victims be shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for advanced care. The victims were subsequently transported to the hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
