Unnao Recreation: Hailakandi Man Recreates Train Stunt, Lies on Track, Gets Arrested
The greed to go viral led to the arrest of a Hailakandi man. Papul Alam Barbhuiya was arrested by Hailakandi Police from Lala’s Rongpur area for doing a dangerous stunt on a railway track to create a video. In the video, he was seen lying on the tracks while a train passed over him, attempting to recreate a similar viral video from UP’s Unnao.
27 year old Papul Alam Barbhuiya was recently taken into custody after he shared the video on his social media platforms, hoping to gain attention. In the video, he is seen lying flat in between the railway tracks while a moving train passes right over him. He filmed the entire act, putting his life in danger for views and likes.
Visuals show Papul lying parallel to the tracks. Fortunately, the wheels and other parts of the train did not come in contact with him. He remained safe, but the act could have easily turned fatal had there been any miscalculation.
The video attracted a lot of attention online, which led to the police identifying and arresting hi for performing such a risky stunt in a public space. Speaking to Barak Bulletin, Hailakandi SP Leena Doley confirmed that the arrest was made two days ago.
Hailakandi Police, while sharing the arrest update on their official social media handle, shared, “It is reiterated that such dangerous stunts/acts posted on social media can invite legal actions against you since such acts endanger human lives and misleads viewers especially the young ones. Be a responsible citizen. Use social media wisely. Live your life sensibly and for the good of others.”
This is not an isolated incident. A similar stunt was earlier recorded in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district, where a 22 year old man named Ranjit Chaurasia pulled the same act. He, too, was arrested by the authorities for his actions.
Papul’s video is an exact recreation of Ranjit’s stunt. In today’s world, many people go to extreme lengths to get social media fame. While some online actions may be harmless, others, like this one, can be extremely dangerous.
