Vaccination drive in Gaon Panchayat areas of Cachar from tomorrow; DC Cachar urges people to participate
Just like the recently concluded Municipality ward wise vaccination drive organised by the Cachar District Administration, similarly now the District Administration is organizing a rural vaccination drive which will take place in phases covering all the rural block areas of the Cachar district starting from June 18. Thus starting from tomorrow, GP (Gaon Panchayat) wise vaccination drive will commence which aims to cover the rural areas of the district.
This was announced today by the District Administration who had previously successfully organized a week-long vaccination drive in all wards of the Silchar Municipality area. Now in order to provide vaccination to the rural dwellers of the district, this GP-wise vaccination drive has been set up by the District Administration.
Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Keerthi Jalli said, “Similar to ward wise program of town, we are going to organise a GP wise drive to ensure maximum coverage for herd immunity to develop. This is a drive for the 18+ and 45+ age group and doses of Covishield will be inoculated. We will cover all GPs in phases.”
DC Cachar added, “We request the public to come in and take their vaccine when the session is in the respective GP. The government is doing everything to maximise vaccination. I request Cachar to come forward and make this drive a successful one”
The rural vaccination drive of tomorrow, i.e, June 18, will cover 7 Block PHCs, namely – Bikrampur, Udharbond, Lakhipur, Sonai, Dholai, Jalalpur, Borkhola and Harinagar. Under these Block PHCs, there are a total of 29 GPs, meaning there will be 29 vaccination sites installed in the GPs of the aforementioned blocks. Thus in phases, all the other rural block areas will be covered as well through GP-wise vaccination drives.
