Vaccination for 15-18-year-old from Jan 3; Precaution dose for Healthcare workers, 60+ from January 10: PM Modi
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi addressed the nation today a while ago. He greeted the people of the nation on the occasion of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary and Christmas.
“Today is an auspicious day and so, I thought, it would be a great occasion for us to make certain announcements,” said Prime Minister Modi. He informed the nation that from January 3, 2022, vaccination doses will be available for the population aged between 15 and 18 years. “This decision will intensify the battle against Corona. At the same time, this will provide a sense of security to the parents who are sending their children to school every day,” said Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
Another major decision Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced is that the Healthcare and other frontline workers continue to remain at the frontline and exposed to infection. “Considering their efforts, the government of India has decided to provide precautionary doses to the healthcare and other frontline workers.”
Prime Minister Modi announced that the population above 60-year-old who have comorbidities will be eligible for precautionary dose of COVID vaccines. “To them, the doses will be provided only if prescribed by the doctor,” announced Narendra Modi.
He announced that the precautionary doses will be available in the country from January 10, 2022. The Prime Minister lauded the scientists who are working relentlessly to combat the COVID situation. He warned the nation that COVID is very much there amidst us and so, he insisted that all must take necessary precautions. At the same time, PM Modi urged the nation to not pay heed to rumours as the government is analysing the Omicron situation on a daily basis and the scientists are researching the matter.
