Vehicles to ply on only one lane on Barak Bridge from Dec 27

From December 27, 2018, only light weight vehicles will ply on one lane on Barak bridge in Sadarghat for a period of seven days. The restriction is imposed by the office of National Highways’s Silchar Sub Division. An advertisement was released notifying general public about the restriction. The Sub division office has also appologised for the inconvenience that the restriction would cause.

It is worth mentioning here that wear and tears are often noticed in the Sadarghat bridge in Rangpur. Meanwhile, as a big relief for the people of Barak Valley – the construction work of the bridge adjacent to the existing one is at the last stage. As it stands today the new bridge could be inaugurated early next year.
