Veterans Cricketers Club organised pace bowling camp kickstarts in Silchar. The Veterans Cricketers Club is one of the most active organisations when it comes to promoting cricket among youngsters. Recently, the club recognised the efforts of young cricketers at its annual event.
Formed by all former cricketers, the club has now roped in renowned coach and one of the best bowlers of the State during his time, Javed Khan for a pace bowling camp.
Today morning, the camp was declared open by president of Silchar DSA Babul Hore in the presence of club president Bijendra Prasad and secretary Niranjan Das. The club handed over jerseys to the coach and all the players.
In this camp, coach Javed Khan who is also the coach of Assam Cricket Association’s Academy will be assisted by Soumitra Biswas, Mosarab Hussain Laskar and Raju Das. Under 16, inter-district champion Silchar’s coach Tathagata Debroy will also assist Khan.
The club has informed that 35 young cricketers will take part in the camp. Among them, there are eight belonging to the under 13 category, 11 under 16, 11 under 19 and five are senior bowlers.
