Veteran Mathematics teacher, Ramanuj Gupta Jr. College's Biswajit Ghosh dies in a car crash
It is a tragic news, not just for the hundreds he taught, but also for the thousands who fondly remember him as BG sir. Veteran mathematics teacher, Biswajit Ghosh, has died in a car crash today afternoon on Shillong Road. He was driving his own Maruti 800 car when he met with an accident in Jowai. He was rushed to the nearest hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead.
He was feeling too hot in Silchar and so, wanted to spend some time at his sister’s house in Shillong. He was joined by a former student, Aman Bansal on the road, who too incurred some injuries.
“It is shocking, I still don’t believe this,” reacts Rudra Narayan Gupta, President of Ramanuj Gupta Trust. He adds, “I was one of his first students. He shares a deep relationship with the trust and in fact, was one of the founding pillars of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College. He has been associated with the institution since its planning stage. Very much the liaison between the veteran teachers and my father. After my father, he shared a great bond with me. I met him yesterday and had no clue that he is driving to Shillong today.”
Biswajt Ghosh was one of the renowned Mathematics teachers in Barak Valley. He used to put a lot of efforts in explaining the concepts and not just completing the syllabus. He leaves behind his wife, son, family members, thousands of students and many fond memories.
What transpired on the road that resulted in the accident is still unknown. Calls to family members at this hour will be a breach of privacy as the family deserves to mourn in private.
