Vigilance team catches Patwari of Circle Officer's Office in Badarpur while accepting bribe

A team from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DIR_VAC_ASSAM) has successfully trapped and arrested Joyshab Hussain Laskar, the Lat Mandal of the Circle Officer’s office in Badarpur, Karimganj. The official was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a complainant for processing his land mutation works.

The Director General of Police in Assam, GP Singh, praised the efforts of the team and congratulated them on social media for their successful operation. According to sources, the Patwari demanded a bribe from the applicant at the Land Records Office. The complainant then informed the Vigilance team, who decided to set a trap for the corrupt official.

The team mixed a chemical with the currency handed over to Joyshab Hussain Laskar as a bribe. After receiving the bribe, the officials caught him red-handed. As per reports, the corrupt official is currently being interrogated in custody. He was apprehended earlier this morning.

The incident serves as a reminder of the rampant corruption in the Indian bureaucracy, where the common citizens are often at the mercy of the corrupt officials. The vigilance team’s prompt action and successful operation have set an example for others and are expected to serve as a deterrent for future incidents of corruption.
