A long-standing land dispute in the Khelma area of Gumrah, Kalain, took a deadly turn today, resulting in two fatalities and numerous injuries. The clash, which escalated into a violent brawl, involved parties associated with Arishundar Baishnab and Raju Baishnab, two individuals embroiled in the dispute.

The conflict reached a boiling point this afternoon when the two parties engaged in a physical altercation, leaving many severely injured. Tragically, Raju Baishnab and Direndra Baishnab were pronounced dead upon arrival at Kalain Hospital, further exacerbating the tension surrounding the dispute.

In a disturbing turn of events, a mob of approximately 20 individuals stormed into the hospital, where bedridden victims from the earlier brawl were receiving treatment. The assailants mercilessly assaulted the injured individuals, as captured in a video obtained by Barak Bulletin. The harrowing footage showcases the brutality unleashed upon the helpless patients, leading to widespread trauma and panic among those admitted to the hospital.

As chaos ensued, several patients fled the premises in fear for their safety, exacerbating an already dire situation. However, law enforcement swiftly intervened, dispatching a larger contingent of police officials to restore order and contain the violence.

Amidst the turmoil, two individuals sustained critical injuries during the assault at the hospital and have since been transferred to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for urgent medical attention. In total, fifteen individuals have reported injuries stemming from the clashes, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for resolution.

The community remains on edge as tensions persist, highlighting the urgent need for constructive dialogue and conflict resolution mechanisms to prevent further bloodshed and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the region.
