Vistadome coaches for Lumding-Badarpur Section; Piyush Goyal discloses in a review meeting

The Railway Minister of India, Piyush Goyal in a review meeting in Guwahati with Railway officials on Saturday directed the Railway authorities for arranging Vistadome coaches for Lumding-Badarpur section along with other tourist routes.

Vistadome coaches are special Railway coaches with glass ceiling that are designed to give outside view in scenic routes with a view to provide a delightful travelling experience to the passengers.

Minister Goyal has also said that his ministry will soon approach the cabinet committee on economic affairs for clearance of the doubling of the railway line from New Bongaigaon-Guwahati via Rangia in Assam.

The Minister spoke to State Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya for ensuring quick permission for land procurement which is presently hampering progress of project.

Addressing the review meeting of senior Railway officials at Northeast Frontier Railway headquarters in Guwahati, Goyal said following the inauguration of Bogibeel bridge all efforts should now be towards doubling of railway lines in the region for capacity enhancement. He asked the officials to prepare a plan of action within one week.

It may be mentioned here that metre gauge track from Mahur to Harangajao was also directed earlier to be revived as heritage line to enhance tourist attraction of Dima Hasao.
